Building Your Home
Whether you decide to select a plan we have previously built or decide to start from scratch, at Karem Built Homes we work with you to design the most affordable, efficiently built home for your money.
Select Your Home Site/Location
We will assist you in selecting a location that most closely fits your needs and the needs of your family. Do you already own a lot? Looking for a lot within or outside the city? We can help in all facets to make sure you are where you want to be.
Select Your Home Design
We have many designs from which to choose, or we will custom design a home for you from the ground up. Beyond the basic layout of the home, we also can help with custom interior design, trim, flooring, etc., right down to custom cabinets. We can also take an existing design and tailor or alter it to fit your specific desires. We’re here to make sure you get what you want.
Pricing Your New Home
After we have determined the location and the design of your home, we will price it in accordance with the options you select. We recommend you know and communicate your budget from the start so that together we can create the optimal home for you and your family. You won’t be limited to only a few features, so finding the right fit for your budget will become our primary goal.
Signing a Contract For Your New Home
When your home is fully planned out the way you envision it, we will sign a purchase agreement, collect your down payment, and iron out any last-minute details before proceeding. At this point, it will be necessary for you to make your mortgage application if you have not already done so. Once your mortgage is approved, we can begin construction of your new home.
Once we receive a letter of intent from your financial institution, we will begin construction. In most cases, we estimate the home to be complete in approximately four to six months. Of course, we will be in communication with you along the way so that you can be as involved as possible.
Pre-Closing Walk Through and Meeting
When construction is complete, we will meet with you at your new home and do a thorough inspection. We will discuss and record any requested adjustments and complete them as soon as possible. If you have any further questions about your home, we will answer them at this time. This is the time for you to take a big-picture look at your home and make any last-minute adjustments.
Official Closing of Your New Home
At closing, we will transfer the custom-built home to you. We will give you the keys, your warranty, and anything else you have not yet received. At this point, your new home is ready for you to move in and make it your own.
After living in the house for a year, you may find some minor adjustments that need to be done. We anticipate this as part of our agreement. We ask that you complete and submit to us a one-year callback form and at that point any adjustments or corrections can be made.
